about polymermedics

Every year, we make more than 1.8 billion plastic components and assemblies for demanding clients in the global medical, hygiene and pharmaceutical industries.

Our long experience in the sector, combined with clean environment, multiple accreditations and expertise from design to assembly, make us an ideal partner. Importantly, we take the time to listen first – then tailor each project to your individual needs.

With a focus on quality and cost-efficiency – and no tolerance for error – we work around the clock, seven days a week, to ensure each individual product is manufactured to the highest standards.

excellent people

Achieving high production volumes – without compromising quality – takes an outstanding and highly committed team.

We invest heavily in recruitment and training to ensure our 50-strong team are always equipped with the latest skills. Meanwhile, our apprenticeship programme will help to give us access to bright, local engineering talent for years to come.

global reach

polymermedics Ltd is part of the mi-industries group, along with our German sister company polyoptics GmbH – and we have close working links with the University of Bradford’s Centre for Polymer Micro and Nano Technology.

This gives our team broad, pan-European access to expertise, support and the latest technical developments in areas like micromoulding.

locally minded

We’re proud that polymermedics been an active part of the community in St Austell, Cornwall, for more than 30 years. We’re closely involved with our local schools, colleges and universities, as well as supporting local charities, events and community groups.

We also play a role in Cornwall’s business community – illustrating the success local manufacturers can achieve on the global stage by investing in world-leading technology and skills.

We are committed to working sustainably, and protecting our environment, both locally and globally. In particular, we work to reduce our energy use, and to recycle our packaging and manufacturing waste – despite increasing output, we have reduced the waste we send to landfill by more than 77% since 2010.

We were delighted to see these efforts rewarded with registration to the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001:2004.
